Hey everyone! I hope this post finds y'all doing great. To our excitement and relief, kidding season 2022 has come and gone. Four of our does (ladies) "participated" this year. From these four we now have seven kids (baby goats). Please help us welcome them!!!!
This little guy was our first born this year. His mom, Rosemary, is one of our first dairy goats and most definitely the boss of the herd. Rosemary is a registered former show goat and a spectacular milker giving us lots of milk for cereal, cheese, yogurt, and soap. Atlas will make a productive herd sire carrying show worthy genes.
Bailey is one of two born to our doe, Darla. Darla came to us a couple years ago with a shy standoffish attitude. After some time getting to know one another, she settled right in and stole our hearts. If you are ever at the farm and there's a goat roaming the yard, this is Darla. Maybe she should be our farm mascot. LOL!!
Twilight is Bailey's sister. She was our first doeling born this year. As you can see, she is precious!
Blackjack is one of two bucklings born to Louisa. Louisa is a gorgeous solid black mini lamancha. She is very laid back, keeps to herself, a wonderful milker, and is quite loving. We had no plans to keep any bucklings born this year. Blackjack, however, will be staying with us. Our kids adore him.
Double Stuffed is Blackjack's brother. We have comedians in the house. LOL!!
Oakley is one of two doelings born to Effie. Effie is, like Rosemary, a former show goat, an excellent milker, and the "Queen" of our herd. She has an air about her that tells everyone she's above them. I love this about her.
Olive is Oakley's sister. I just can't with all her cuteness!! She is currently our only goat with big ears. Lamancha's typically have what is called elf or gopher ears. They are very small and often hard to see. In some cases, like Olive's, they will have airplane ears. While it isn't the breed standard, they sure are precious.
Baby Daddy...... He's rather proud of himself.
