As we embark into 2022 I am looking forward to well earned accomplishments, met goals, and conquered challenges. I like learning new skills which means I'm constantly perusing for different hobbies and to do's.
On my list for this year is to learn to make bread. Sandwich bread, yeast rolls, burger buns, english muffins, cinnamon rolls.....all the delicious, carb filled goodies. I want to be able to add this item to our list of things we no longer buy from the store.
Next is to expand our gardens. We have had a couple small gardens over the last several years. I've grown to thoroughly enjoy the process of seed shopping, planting, tending, and harvesting. What puts growing a larger garden on this list is that our oldest daughter found her love for growing food last summer. She is beyond excited to get this season of seeding and harvesting started.
Bulking up our preserved food supply is another goal we have set for ourselves. We've spent the last handful of seasons learning the ins and outs of canning, dehydrating, and freezing as methods of preservation. We hope to expand on all of these and maybe delve into new ways to store our harvest.
Spending more time together as a family is high on our priority list. With the lifestyle we've chosen comes crazy hours, long days, and often unplanned surprises that throw kinks in dinner plans. We know these things will happen. We also know there's not much we can do to change that. We can, however, make a concerted effort to spend quality time together whenever possible. Our oldest will turn 18 this year. It's absolutely unbelievable to me. I just do not know when that happened. Lots of moms are agreeing with me because they feel the same. Our kids will be off to great adventures before we know it and we want to spend as much time as possible aggravating them while they're here with us.
These are just a few of the things we want to accomplish this year. What are you guys looking forward to accomplishing in 2022?
